Our Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that sponsors The Bluegrass Aerospace Experience.
Our instructors, Bill & Nate Hammond, have been in aviation nearly all their lives and have built many Carbon Cubs. Many volunteers from the Kentucky Pilots Association also assist.
We have a very well-equipped shop and a fully professional paint booth to paint our aircraft in. Our second Carbon Cub has been completed and sold. The third Carbon Cub is well on its way to completion.
The Kentucky Pilots Association and The Bluegrass Aerospace Experience are now in their third year, building a third Carbon Cub.
In addition, the foundation is also funding a flight program for a group of students from The Bluegrass Aerospace Experience. This program has the goal of each student completing a Private Pilot Ground School, taking the written FAA test, and taking part in flight training, finishing up with each student completing a solo flight. Many students have soloed and some have even obtained their private pilot rating.
